PSMC4

The 26S protease is involved in the ATP-dependent degradation of ubiquitinated proteins. The regulatory (or ATPase) complex confers ATP dependency and substrate specificity to the 26S complex.

Interaction

Component of the 19S proteasome regulatory particle complex. The 26S proteasome consists of a 20S core particle (CP) and two 19S regulatory subunits (RP). The regulatory particle is made of a lid composed of 9 subunits, a base containing 6 ATPases including PSMC4 and few additional components (PubMed:27428775,PubMed:27342858). Interacts with NR1I3. Interacts with PAAF1 (PubMed:15831487). Interacts with TRIM5 (PubMed:22078707). Interacts with ZFAND1 (PubMed:29804830).
