APC-A*02:01/CMV pp65 (NLVPMVATV) MHC Tetramer

CAT#: MHC-LC349

This product is a tetramer of biotinylated peptide/MHC complex with streptavidin mainly composed of CMV-derived peptide of NLVPMVATV sequence covering 495-503 and A*02:01 molecule. The pMHC tetramer recognizes human CD8 T cells, and can be used in the analysis of individual antigen-specific T cells.

Target

  • Antigen Introduction
  • Human cytomegalovirus is a species of the Cytomegalovirus genus of viruses, which in turn is a member of the viral family known as Herpesviridae or herpesviruses. It is typically abbreviated as HCMV or, commonly but more ambiguously, as CMV. It is also known as human herpesvirus-5 (HHV-5). pp65 (ppUL83), the major constituent of both virions and noninfectious particles called dense bodies, localizes predominantly to the nucleus after virus penetration and accumulates in both nucleus and cytoplasm as virus matures late in infection, where it may associate with a kinase.
  • Alternative Names
  • CMV pp65; Human cytomegalovirus pp65; UL83; lower matrix protein

Breast cancer biomarkers at key points during disease progression
Consistent and Reliable Performance
Offering reproducible results, this tetramer has become indispensable for our longitudinal studies assessing T cell functions over time. Its dependability is critical for generating data that drives our understanding of immune responses in CMV infections.

Q&As

  1. Why is targeting CMV pp65 important in immunological studies?

A: pp65 is a major antigen of the CMV virus, commonly recognized by the immune system. Studying T cell responses to pp65 provides insights into viral control and is crucial for developing therapies for CMV-related disorders or post-transplant infections.

  2. What is the primary application of the APC-A02:01/CMV pp65 MHC Tetramer?

A: This tetramer is predominantly used in flow cytometry to detect CMV-specific CD8+ T cells. It helps researchers study T cell-mediated immune responses, particularly in the context of cytomegalovirus (CMV) infections.
