It highlights that the accumulation of the UBB+1 protein is an early event in Alzheimer's disease. The research demonstrates that UBB+1 expression induces AD pathology in human neurons by interacting with UCHL1 and altering APP protein levels. Notably, silencing UBB+1 expression rescues AD pathology in human familial AD (FAD) neurons.
