Specific For Calpastatin
We needed a reliable antibody to detect Calpastatin (CAST) in our samples. This recombinant mouse monoclonal (clone OTI1E7) worked perfectly in Western Blot, recognizing the human protein. It was raised against a specific recombinant fragment (aa 582-670), which seems to provide excellent specificity.
Good Performance In ELISA
In addition to blotting, we used this antibody in ELISA assays to quantify CAST levels. The signal was consistent, and the>95% purity of the antibody ensured low background. It is a robust reagent for studying the calpain-calpastatin system.
