After 30 min of culturing on fibrillin-1 substrates, VB6 cells were simultaneously stained for actin (green), αVβ6 integrin (red) and nuclei (blue). Fibronectin fragment FIII9-10 was used as a positive control for spreading and focal contact formation. Actin filaments terminating in focal contacts enriched in αVβ6 integrin produced an orange-yellow color due to colocalization of the two proteins. Note that both domain pairs, cbEGF22-TB4 and TB4-cbEGF23, can induce αVβ6 integrin recruitment into focal contacts. Scale bar, 10 μm.
