The anti-AFP eliminating antibody is an engineered pH-sensitive antibody against human AFP. AFP, mainly produced during fetal life, is linked to liver and testicular cancers in adults, aiding in disease prognosis. The antibody has a novel AFP-sweeping activity in vivo, which selectively eliminatesthe soluble AFP from plasma. Compared to conventional antibody, the mAb exerted in vivo efficacy by simultaneously engineering both pH-dependent antigen binding, to mimic the pH-dependent receptor-ligand binding of such endocytic receptors, and increased FcRn binding affinity at neutral pH, to mimic the cell-bound form of the receptors.
