Liposomes conjugated with anti-CEACAM5 antibodies are utilized for targeted therapy in colorectal cancer, as CEACAM5 is a common biomarker for the disease. This approach effectively concentrates drugs on tumor cells expressing CEACAM5, thereby enhancing anti-tumor effects. Studies indicate that this strategy can significantly reduce systemic toxicity during treatment. Anti-CEACAM5 liposomes offer a new option for precise treatment of colorectal cancer.
The application of anti-CEACAM5 antibody-conjugated liposomes in breast cancer treatment is still in the research stage. CEACAM5 is a tumor antigen that shows overexpression in various cancers, particularly in breast cancer. Therefore, the combination of antibodies targeting CEACAM5 with liposomes may aid in targeted drug delivery and enhance therapeutic efficacy. Related studies have indicated that antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) targeting CEACAM5-positive tumors are becoming potential treatment candidates.
