SmartAb™ Recombinant Anti-CXCL2 pH-dependent Antibody (Clone fAb)

The anti-CXCL2 pH-dependent antibody (clone fAb) targets human CXCL2 in a pH-dependent manner, with its affinity remaining high at neutral pH but weakening at a lower pH, such as within the acidic environment of endosomes. The anti-CXCL2 acid-switched antibody was engineered by incorporating histidine residues into its variable regions. The introduction of histidine substitutions within its Complementarity-Determining Regions (CDRs) enables pH-responsive antigen binding, which leads to enhanced CXCL2 clearance. The antibody operates in a cyclical manner, binding CXCL2 in the extracellular fluid and releasing it in acidified endosomes. CXCL2, or Macrophage Inflammatory Protein-2 alpha (MIP-2α), is a chemokine that primarily recruits neutrophils to inflammatory sites. It is a key mediator of acute inflammation and is induced by various pro-inflammatory stimuli.
