Anti-CXCL8 (clone 656.35) Recombinant Antibody Coupled Liposome (VS-1024-FY283)

CAT#: VS-1024-FY283

Anti-IL-8 antibody conjugated liposomes hold great potential in research for neovascular age-related macular degeneration (AMD) by specifically targeting inflammatory pathways that contribute to the disease's progression. This targeted approach may enhance the delivery of therapeutic agents directly to the site of pathology, potentially improving treatment efficacy and minimizing systemic side effects.

  • IgG
  • Antibody Host
  • Human
  • Antibody Reactivity
  • Human
  • Antibody Description
  • This is a recombinant human monoclonal antibody that was specifically engineered to target interleukin-8 (IL-8), a pro-inflammatory cytokine that plays a crucial role in various inflammatory processes and is implicated in several diseases. Through sophisticated biotechnology techniques, this antibody has been produced to ensure high specificity and affinity for IL-8, allowing it to effectively bind to and neutralize this cytokine.

Target Information

  • Target
  • CXCL8
  • Introduction
  • CXCL8 (C-X-C Motif Chemokine Ligand 8) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with CXCL8 include Bronchiolitis and Extrinsic Allergic Alveolitis. Among its related pathways are PEDF Induced Signaling and Bacterial infections in CF airways. Gene Ontology (GO) annotations related to this gene include chemokine activity and interleukin-8 receptor binding. An important paralog of this gene is PPBP.
  • Alternative Names
  • C-X-C Motif Chemokine Ligand 8; Monocyte-Derived Neutrophil Chemotactic Factor; Monocyte-Derived Neutrophil-Activating Peptide; Granulocyte Chemotactic Protein 1; Chemokine (C-X-C Motif) Ligand 8; Beta Endothelial Cell-Derived Neutrophil Activating Peptide; Lung Giant Cell Carcinoma-Derived Chemotactic Protein; Lymphocyte Derived Neutrophil Activating Peptide; Alveolar Macrophage Chemotactic Factor I; Tumor Necrosis Factor-Induced Gene 1; Neutrophil-Activating Peptide 1; T-Cell Chemotactic Factor; Interleukin 8; Emoctakin; GCP-1; MDNCF; MONAP
  • Full Name
  • C-X-C Motif Chemokine Ligand 8
  • Sequence Similarities
  • Belongs to the intercrine alpha (chemokine CxC) family.
  • Cellular Localization
  • Secreted
  • Post Translation Modifications
  • Several N-terminal processed forms are produced by proteolytic cleavage after secretion from at least peripheral blood monocytes, leukcocytes and endothelial cells.
In general, IL-8(1-77) is referred to as interleukin-8.
IL-8(6-77) is the most promiment form.
  • Function
  • Chemotactic factor that mediates inflammatory response by attracting neutrophils, basophils, and T-cells to clear pathogens and protect the host from infection (PubMed:18692776, 7636208).
Also plays an important role in neutrophil activation (PubMed:2145175, 9623510).
Released in response to an inflammatory stimulus, exerts its effect by binding to the G-protein-coupled receptors CXCR1 and CXCR2, primarily found in neutrophils, monocytes and endothelial cells.
