Provided is monoclonal antibody PL9-11 against DNA. The clone exhibits significant binding to DNA in the absence of histones.

ELISA plates were coated with either H2A-H2B dimers or poly-L-lysine. For the detection of antibodies to DNA or to H2A-H2B-DNA complexes, DNA was added to plates already coated with poly-Llysine or with H2A-H2B dimers.respectively (cf. Methods).

PL9-3, PL9-9, PL9-7, and LG4-3 gave a pattern similar to PL9-2, whereas PL9-10 and PL9-11 were similar to PL9-6 (not shown). The mAbs were used at 20 ug/ml in PBS-BSA.
