Rabbit Anti-EEF2 Recombinant Antibody (clone R07-2C0) (CAT#: VS3-FY1999)

The R07-2C0 recombinant monoclonal antibody recognizes human EEF2. It cross-reacts with mouse, rat. It is suitable for use in a variety of assays, including WB, IHC-F, IHC-P, ICC/IF, IP. We validate the QC result of the antibody using western blot (dilution 1/500-1/1000), immunohistochemistry (dilution 1/50-1/100), immunofluorescence (dilution 1/50-1/200), immunoprecipitation (dilution 1/20). The binding specificity of the elongation factor 2 antibody was determined using western blot analysis of EEF2/Elongation factor 2 in 3T3, MEF lysates and western blot analysis of EEF2/Elongation factor 2 in A549, U2OS, C6 lysates using EEF2/Elongation factor 2 antibody.

  • Post Translation Modifications
  • Phosphorylation by EF-2 kinase completely inactivates EF-2; it requires prior phosphorylation by CDK2 at Ser-595 during mitotic prometaphase.
Phosphorylation by CSK promotes SUMOylation, proteolytic cleavage, and nuclear translocation if the C-terminal fragment.
    (P13639-EF2_HUMAN)
    Diphthamide is 2-[3-carboxyamido-3-(trimethyl-ammonio)propyl]histidine (). (P13639-EF2_HUMAN)
(Microbial infection) Diphthamide can be ADP-ribosylated by diphtheria toxin and by Pseudomonas exotoxin A, thus arresting protein synthesis. (P13639-EF2_HUMAN)
    ISGylated. (P13639-EF2_HUMAN)
Proteolytically processed at two sites following phosphorylation by CSK. (P13639-EF2_HUMAN)
SUMOylated following phosphorylation by CSK, promotes proteolytic cleavage. (P13639-EF2_HUMAN)
    Ubiquitination at Lys32, Lys42, Lys152, Lys159, Lys235, Lys239, Lys272, Lys275, Lys318, Lys333, Lys366, Lys386, Lys426, Lys481, Lys498, Lys512, Lys594, Lys638, Lys648, Lys688, and Lys845 (NX_P13639 [NX_P13639-1])
    Modification sites at PhosphoSitePlus (P13639)
    Glycosylation from GlyGen (P13639) 3 sites, 1 O-linked glycan (3 sites)
  • Function
  • Catalyzes the GTP-dependent ribosomal translocation step during translation elongation.
During this step, the ribosome changes from the pre-translocational (PRE) to the post-translocational (POST) state as the newly formed A-site-bound peptidyl-tRNA and P-site-bound deacylated tRNA move to the P and E sites, respectively.
