This product is a recombinant Human antibody that can recognize Connexin26. The antibody binds an extracellular epitope of Cx26. abEC1.1 inhibits connexin hemichannels by binding an epitope at the apex of the EC1 loop.

HaCaT cells, either wild type (T, A) or stably expressing Cx26-Venus (B-D) were bathed in extracellular medium containing: (A, B) 0 mM Ca²⁺: (C) 0 mM Ca²⁺ + 952 nM abEC1.1; (D) 2 mM Ca²⁺. Each experiment was replicated three times. Column (1) displays the cells before incubation with Lucifer Yellow (LY); column (2) shows the same field of view after the 5 min incubation with LY (1 mM, 5 min); column (3) is the difference between the two (2-1); scale bar 50 um. Box plots represent the distributions of fiuorescence values measured in 50 different cels before (1) andafter (2) incubation th LY.
