The anti-MAPT eliminating antibody is an engineered pH-sensitive antibody against human MAPT. MAPT is a tau protein, implicated in neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer's. The antibody has a novel MAPT-sweeping activity in vivo, which selectively eliminatesthe soluble MAPT from plasma. Compared to conventional antibody, the mAb exerted in vivo efficacy by simultaneously engineering both pH-dependent antigen binding, to mimic the pH-dependent receptor-ligand binding of such endocytic receptors, and increased FcRn binding affinity at neutral pH, to mimic the cell-bound form of the receptors.
