The anti-PPBP eliminating antibody is an engineered pH-sensitive antibody against human PPBP. PPBP, a growth factor, stimulates neutrophil activation and exhibits antimicrobial properties. The antibody has a novel PPBP-sweeping activity in vivo, which selectively eliminatesthe soluble PPBP from plasma. Compared to conventional antibody, the mAb exerted in vivo efficacy by simultaneously engineering both pH-dependent antigen binding, to mimic the pH-dependent receptor-ligand binding of such endocytic receptors, and increased FcRn binding affinity at neutral pH, to mimic the cell-bound form of the receptors.
