SmartAb™ Recombinant Anti-SARS-CoV-2 S1 pH-dependent Antibody (Clone CS124)

This antibody targets the S1 subunit of the SARS-CoV-2 (Beta variant) spike protein with pH-dependent binding. Its affinity remains high at neutral pH but weakens at a lower pH, such as within the acidic environment of endosomes. The acid-switched antibody was engineered by incorporating histidine residues into its variable regions. The S1 subunit is the receptor-binding domain of the Spike (S) protein, which is found on the surface of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. As the key protein that mediates viral entry by binding to the ACE2 receptor on host cells, the S1 subunit is a primary target for neutralizing antibodies and vaccine development.
