This human anti-SARS-CoV-2 S2 antibody CC40.8 is a product that recognizes SARS-CoV-2 S2. This antibody CC40.8 targets the conserved S2 stem-helix region of the coronavirus spike fusion machinery and exhibits broad reactivity with human beta-coronaviruses (β-CoVs). This antibody has been tested for use in enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, immunofluorescence and inhibition assays.

- CC40.8 can effectively neutralize clade 1b and clade 1a ACE2 receptor-utilizing sarbecoviruses. CC40.8 can prevent cell-cell fusion of HeLa cells expressing SARS-CoV-2 spike protein with HeLa cells expressing the hACE2 receptor. Pseudotyped viral neutralization assay was performed, 25 μl of virus was mixed with 25 μl of three-fold serially diluted this antibody (starting concentration of 300 μg/ml). Binding of this antibody to various human coronavirus spike proteins expressed on the surface of HEK293T cells was determined by flow cytometry.
