The AbPlus Anti-SMPD1 Magnetic Beads (CBL631) is an innovative affinity resin which is bound with anti-SMPD1 specific antibody (CBL631). The beads were designed for small-scale affinity purification and immunoprecipitation (IP) of SMPD1 protein under native and denaturing conditions.

- The beads are in suspension and will settle upon storage. Prior to use, mix the vial gently (do not vortex) to ensure delivery of proper bead volume.

- Introduction
- The protein encoded by this gene is a lysosomal acid sphingomyelinase that converts sphingomyelin to ceramide. The encoded protein also has phospholipase C activity. Defects in this gene are a cause of Niemann-Pick disease type A (NPA) and Niemann-Pick disease type B (NPB). Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
