Rabbit Anti-TTR Recombinant Antibody (clone R07-4A2) (CAT#: VS3-FY1849)

This anti-Prealbumin antibody detected positive in western blot analysis of prealbumin in human and rat brain lysates. The recombinant monoclonal antibody effectively detects human and rat TTR. The R07-4A2 is recommended for dilution of target protein by western blot (dilution 1/500-1/1000).

  • Western Blot: 1/500-1/1000

Target

  • Alternative Names
  • Transthyretin; Prealbumin, Amyloidosis Type I; PALB; ATTR; TBPA; Epididymis Luminal Protein 111; Thyroxine-Binding Prealbumin
  • Sequence Similarities
  • Belongs to the transthyretin family.
  • Cellular Localization
  • Amyloid, Cytoplasm, Secreted
  • Post Translation Modifications
  • Not glycosylated under normal conditions. Following unfolding, caused for example by variant AMYL-TTR 'Gly-38', the cryptic Asn-118 site is exposed and glycosylated by STT3B-containing OST complex, leading to its degradation by the ER-associated degradation (ERAD) pathway.
  • Function
  • Thyroid hormone-binding protein. Probably transports thyroxine from the bloodstream to the brain.
