Rabbit Anti-TYR Recombinant Antibody (VS13-YC1194) (CAT#: VS13-YC1194)
The Rabbit Anti-TYR Recombinant Antibody is specific for human TYR. The TYR gene encodes an enzyme that catalyzes steps in converting tyrosine to melanin and requires copper for function. Mutations can result in oculocutaneous albinism and affect skin pigmentation. The anti-TYR antibody can be used for Western blot (1/500-1/1000), Immunohistochemistry (1/50-1/100), Immunofluorescence (1/50-1/200).
We specialize in custom recombinant antibody production, offering seamless execution from provided sequences to high-quality antibody deliverables, ensuring optimal yield and purity.

- Function
- This is a copper-containing oxidase that functions in the formation of pigments such as melanins and other polyphenolic compounds (By similarity).
Catalyzes the initial and rate limiting step in the cascade of reactions leading to melanin production from tyrosine (By similarity).
In addition to hydroxylating tyrosine to DOPA (3, 4-dihydroxyphenylalanine), also catalyzes the oxidation of DOPA to DOPA-quinone, and possibly the oxidation of DHI (5, 6-dihydroxyindole) to indole-5, 6 quinone (By similarity).
