- Prevents aggregation of substrate proteins and promotes their refolding. Functions in the absence of co-chaperone CH10 and ATP. May mediate association of bacteria with macrophages; recombinant protein competitively inhibits the association of M.tuberculosis with mouse bone marrow-derived macrophages.
