The Human HDAC4 Quick ELISA Kit (VS-0726-YC2684) is designed for quickly quantify Human HDAC4 with a sensitivity of 94.776 pg/mL. The kit is based on sandwich ELISA (quantitative) and the total experimental duration is 90 minutes. It is a reliable tool used for the quantitative detection of HDAC4 in Cell lysate and other biological samples. Histone Deacetylase 4 (HDAC4) is a class IIa chromatin-remodeling enzyme that shuttles between the cytoplasm and nucleus, removing acetyl groups from core histone tails to repress genes controlling chondrocyte hypertrophy and skeletal development. Phosphorylation-dependent nuclear export of HDAC4 is instructively tracked to evaluate modern therapeutic targets engineered for cardiomyopathy.

- Histones play a critical role in transcriptional regulation, cell cycle progression, and developmental events. Histone acetylation/deacetylation alters chromosome structure and affects transcription factor access to DNA. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to class II of the histone deacetylase/acuc/apha family. It possesses histone deacetylase activity and represses transcription when tethered to a promoter. This protein does not bind DNA directly, but through transcription factors MEF2C and MEF2D. It seems to interact in a multiprotein complex with RbAp48 and HDAC3. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
