This is a cell-internalizable, chimeric anti-DNA antibody in scFv-Fc format, designed to mimic the activity of autoantibodies found in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). It can enter live cells and trigger the production of the pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-8 and TNF-α through an Fc-dependent pathway. This makes it a valuable research tool for investigating the mechanisms of anti-DNA antibody-induced inflammation and the role of cytosolic Fc receptors in immune signaling.
