The antibody was generated against a polypeptide corresponding to the CMV gp116 epitope AD2 site having the amino acid sequence, SHRANETIYNTTLKYGDTTGTNTTK. The antibody has shown promising results in vitro, inhibiting HCMV infection in multiple cell types and blocking viral spread.
