Human Anti-TCR (clone BMA031) scFv-Fc Chimera
CAT#: VS-0425-FY48
The anti-TCR scFv-Fc fusion protein is designed to target the T-cell receptor (TCR), a critical component of T-cell activation. This fusion protein strategically links a single-chain variable fragment (scFv), which provides precise TCR recognition, to an Fc region that boosts stability and functionality. The primary function of this protein lies in modulating T-cell responses by binding to the TCR, leading to the inhibition or alteration of T-cell mediated immune reaction. This modulatory function shows promise in the treatment of autoimmune diseases and transplant rejection. Through it's Fc portion the protein has prolonged action in the body. Future research and development are concentrating on refining its specificity and therapeutic application.

- Function
- The TCR genes encode for the T cell receptor (TCR), a crucial protein complex on the surface of T lymphocytes. The primary function of the TCR is to recognize specific peptide antigens presented by Major Histocompatibility Complex (MHC) molecules on antigen-presenting cells (APCs).
Each T cell expresses a unique TCR due to somatic recombination of the TCR genes, generating a vast repertoire capable of recognizing diverse antigens. The TCR itself consists of variable α and β chains (or γ and δ chains in a smaller subset of T cells) that form the antigen-binding site.
Upon binding to a specific peptide-MHC complex, the TCR initiates intracellular signaling cascades via associated CD3 molecules. This leads to T cell activation, resulting in proliferation, differentiation into effector cells (like cytotoxic T cells or helper T cells), cytokine production, and ultimately, the elimination of the recognized threat. The TCR is thus central to adaptive immunity, enabling targeted and specific immune responses.
