Mouse Anti-VIM (clone HoAKs-1) scFv-Fc Chimera

CAT#: VS-0425-FY193

The anti-VIM scFv-Fc is a targeted molecule designed to bind vimentin, potentially disrupting its functions or leading to the elimination of vimentin-expressing cells or the neutralization of extracellular vimentin. Its applications could be relevant in various diseases characterized by vimentin upregulation, such as cancer, fibrosis, and inflammatory conditions. The specific application and mechanism of action will depend on the chosen scFv's specificity for different forms or locations of vimentin and the effector functions of the Fc region.

Target

  • Alternative Names
  • Vimentin
  • Long Name
  • Vimentin
  • Sequence Similarities
  • Belongs to the intermediate filament family.
  • Cellular Localization
  • Cytoplasm; Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton; Nucleus matrix; Cell membrane
  • Post Translation Modifications
  • O-glycosylated during cytokinesis at sites identical or close to phosphorylation sites, this interferes with the phosphorylation status.
S-nitrosylation is induced by interferon-gamma and oxidatively-modified low-densitity lipoprotein (LDL(ox)) possibly implicating the iNOS-S100A8/9 transnitrosylase complex.
    Glycosylation at Ser7, Thr33, and Ser34
    Ubiquitination at Lys97, Lys120, Lys129, Lys139, Lys143, Lys168, Lys188, Lys223, Lys236, Lys282, Lys294, Lys313, Lys334, Lys373, Lys439, and Lys445
    Modification sites at PhosphoSitePlus
    Glycosylation from GlyConnect VIME_HUMAN (2867)
    Glycosylation from GlyGen 26 sites, 2 N-linked glycans (2 sites), 2 O-linked glycans (24 sites)
  • Function
  • Vimentins are class-III intermediate filaments found in various non-epithelial cells, especially mesenchymal cells.
Vimentin is attached to the nucleus, endoplasmic reticulum, and mitochondria, either laterally or terminally.
Plays a role in cell directional movement, orientation, cell sheet organization and Golgi complex polarization at the cell migration front.
Protects SCRIB from proteasomal degradation and facilitates its localization to intermediate filaments in a cell contact-mediated manner.
