HIV1

"HIV-1" refers to the human immunodeficiency virus type 1, the most common and pathogenic type of HIV. HIV-1 is a retrovirus that infects CD4+ T cells, which are crucial components of the immune system. Over time, HIV-1 infection can lead to acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), characterized by severe immune dysfunction and increased susceptibility to opportunistic infections.
