IGHA1

Contributes to immunoglobulin receptor binding activity. Involved in antibacterial humoral response; glomerular filtration; and positive regulation of respiratory burst. Located in extracellular space. Part of monomeric IgA immunoglobulin complex and secretory dimeric IgA immunoglobulin complex.
Protein class

Disease related genes, Immunoglobulin genes

Predicted location

Intracellular, Membrane, Secreted (different isoforms)

Single cell type specificity

Group enriched (Plasma cells, B-cells)

Immune cell specificity

Group enriched (memory B-cell, naive B-cell)

Cell line specificity

Cell line enhanced (HDLM-2, RPMI-8226, SH-SY5Y, U-266/70, U-266/84)

Interaction

Immunoglobulins are composed of two identical heavy chains and two identical light chains; disulfide-linked (PubMed:20176268). Monomeric or polymeric (PubMed:2241915). Part of the secretory IgA (sIgA) complex that consists of two, four or five IgA monomers, and two additional non-Ig polypeptides, namely the JCHAIN and the secretory component (the proteoytic product of PIGR).
