TNF (tumor necrosis factor) is a cell signaling protein (cytokine) involved in systemic inflammation and is one of the cytokines that make up the acute phase response. It is mainly produced by activated macrophages, although it can be produced by many other cell types such as CD4+ lymphocytes, NK cells, neutrophils, mast cells, eosinophils and neurons. The main role of TNF is to regulate immune cells. TNF as an endogenous pyrogen can induce fever, apoptotic cell death, cachexia, inflammation and suppression of tumorigenesis and virus replication, and respond to sepsis by producing IL1 and IL6 cells. Dysregulation of TNF production has been linked to a variety of human diseases, including Alzheimer's disease, cancer, major depression, psoriasis and inflammatory bowel disease. Despite controversy, current studies of depression and IBD have been associated with TNF levels. Recombinant TNF acts as an immunostimulant under tasonermin. Tumor necrosis factor can be produced ectopically from malignant tumors and causes parathyroid hormone to cause both secondary hypercalcemia and cancer associated with overproduction. Infliximab (trade name Remicade) was first approved by the FDA in 1998 as an intravenous injection. Infliximab is a tumor necrosis factor blocker, a chimeric monoclonal IgG1 antibody consisting of a human constant region (75%) and a murine variable region (25%). It is used to treat a variety of inflammatory diseases such as adult or pediatric Chron's disease, adult or pediatric ulcerative colitis, rheumatoid arthritis and methotrexate, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis and plaques Psoriasis combination.
