PNPO

Pyridoxine-5'-phosphate oxidase is an enzyme encoded by the PNPO gene in the human body. Vitamin B6 or pyridoxal 5-prime-phosphate (PLP) is essential for normal cell function. Compared with some normal cancer cells, some cancer cells have significant differences in vitamin B6 metabolism. The rate-limiting enzyme in the synthesis of vitamin B6 is pyridoxol-5-prime-phosphate (PNP) oxidase (PNPO; EC 1.4.3.5).
