RANGAP1
This gene encodes a protein that associates with the nuclear pore complex and participates in the regulation of nuclear transport. The encoded protein interacts with Ras-related nuclear protein 1 (RAN) and regulates guanosine triphosphate (GTP)-binding and exchange. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.

The complex composed of RANBP2, SUMO1, RANGAP1 and UBE2I associates with nuclear pore complexes (PubMed:15037602, PubMed:15931224). Interacts with TRAF6 (PubMed:18093978). Interacts with SUMO1 and SENP1 (PubMed:17099698). Interacts (when sumoylated) with MYCBP2; interaction inhibits MYCBP2 E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase activity and promotes MYCBP2 translocation to the nucleus (PubMed:26304119).
