La Crosse virus (LAC) and Snowshoe hare virus (SSH) belong to California serology group of bunya virus family, which is the pathogen causing human viral encephalitis. Aedes albopictus, Aedes triseriatus and Aedesatropalpus are the vectors that transmit LAC vertically. SSH is distributed in Canada, Russia and other countries.
