FPR1

This gene encodes a G protein-coupled receptor of mammalian phagocytic cells that is a member of the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. The protein mediates the response of phagocytic cells to invasion of the host by microorganisms and is important in host defense and inflammation.[provided by RefSeq, Jul 2010]
Protein class

G-protein coupled receptors

Predicted location

Membrane

Single cell type specificity

Group enriched (Kupffer cells, Macrophages, Hofbauer cells, monocytes)

Immune cell specificity

Immune cell enriched (neutrophil)

Cell line specificity

Group enriched (LHCN-M2, U-87 MG)

Interaction

Interacts with S.aureus chemotaxis inhibitory protein (CHIPS); the interaction blocks the receptor and may thus inhibit the immune response.

Molecular function

G-protein coupled receptor, Receptor, Transducer
