TRRAP
This gene encodes a large multidomain protein of the phosphoinositide 3-kinase-related kinases (PIKK) family. The encoded protein is a common component of many histone acetyltransferase (HAT) complexes and plays a role in transcription and DNA repair by recruiting HAT complexes to chromatin. Deregulation of this gene may play a role in several types of cancer including glioblastoma multiforme. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene.

Component of the STAGA complex, at least composed of SUPT3H, GCN5L2, SUPT7L, TAF5L, TAF6L, TADA3L, TAD1L, TAF10, TAF12, TRRAP and TAF9. The STAGA core complex is associated with a subcomplex required for histone deubiquitination composed of ATXN7L3, ENY2 and USP22. Component of the BAF53 complex, at least composed of BAF53A, RUVBL1, SMARCA4/BRG1, and TRRAP, which preferentially acetylates histone H4 (and H2A) within nucleosomes. Interacts with NPAT. Interaction with TELO2 AND TTI1. Component of a SWR1-like complex.
