TXNDC17

The biological function of TXNDC17 is not well understood, but it has been recently found that TXNDC17 is involved in the TNF (tumor necrosis factor) signaling pathway. A number of studies have demonstrated a role of TNF in stimulating autophagy in human cells, including macrophages, vascular smooth cells, skeletal muscle cells, T lymphoblastic leukemic cells, Ewing sarcoma cells, and breast cancer cells. Thus, there may be a link among TXNDC17 overexpression, autophagy, and paclitaxel resistance in ovarian cancer.
