Zika virus (ZIKV), a mosquito-borne flavivirus, usually causes asymptomatic infection; however, severe neurological complications such as Guillain-Barré syndrome and congenital Zika syndrome may arise. Dengue virus (DENV) is the cause of dengue fever. It is a mosquito-borne, single positive-stranded RNA virus of the family Flaviviridae; genus Flavivirus.
