Anti-VV ADCC Enhanced Antibody (Sym002) is an ADCC enhanced antibody produced by our Afuco™ platform. Sym002 is a vaccinia virus specific recombinant polyclonal antibody which is in pre-clinical development as a bio-defense agent for fast onset post-exposure prophylaxis and treatment of smallpox infection and for the treatment of adverse effects of smallpox vaccination.

Figure 1 Sym002 anti-VV rpAb (SYM002) inhibits vaccinia virus replication in vivo.
Prophylactic (lower panel) or therapeutic (top panel) intramuscular administered Sym002 anti-VV rpAb inhibits both the Lister and NYCBOH vaccinia virus replication in vivo as assayed by the mouse tail pock model. All the four data sets showed an approximately 300-fold increased specific activity of Sym002 anti-VV rpAb as compared to VIG.

Eight mice in each group were challenged with vaccinia virus, NYCOBH strain 24 hours prior to injection I.P. injection of the indicated amount of antibodies.
