Saporin is a so-called ribosome inactivating protein (RIP), due to its N-glycosidase activity, from the seeds of Saponaria officinalis (common name: soapwort).Saporin depurinate the ribosomal RNA in a specific position; rendering the large subunit of ribosomes unable to bind the elongation factors. The consequent arrest of protein synthesis is responsible for the cytotoxicity.
CD7 (CD7 Molecule) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with CD7 include Pityriasis Lichenoides Et Varioliformis Acuta and T-Cell Leukemia. Among its related pathways are Hematopoietic cell lineage and Innate Lymphoid Cell Differentiation Pathways. Gene Ontology (GO) annotations related to this gene include receptor activity.
