H-2Kd/L. monocytogenes LLO (GYKDGNEYI) MHC Tetramer
CAT#: MHC-LC762
This product is a tetramer of biotinylated peptide/MHC complex with streptavidin mainly composed of L. monocytogenes-derived peptide of GYKDGNEYI sequence covering 91-99 and H-2Kd molecule. The pMHC tetramer recognizes mouse CD8 T cells, and can be used in the analysis of individual antigen-specific T cells.

- Listeria monocytogenes is the species of pathogenic bacteria that causes the infection listeriosis. It is a facultative anaerobic bacterium, capable of surviving in the presence or absence of oxygen. It can grow and reproduce inside the host's cells and is one of the most virulent foodborne pathogens, with 20 to 30% of food borne listeriosis infections in high-risk individuals may be fatal.Responsible for an estimated 1,600 illnesses and 260 deaths in the United States annually, listeriosis ranks third in total number of deaths among food borne bacterial pathogens, with fatality rates exceeding even Salmonella and Clostridium botulinum. In the European Union listeriosis follows an upward trend that began in 2008, causing 2,161 confirmed cases and 210 reported deaths in 2014, 16% more than in 2013. Listeriosis mortality rates are also in the EU higher than for other food-borne pathogens.

Q&As
-
What is the specific target of the H-2Kd L. monocytogenes LLO (91-99) MHC Tetramer?
A: This MHC tetramer specifically targets CD8+ T cells that recognize the Listeria monocytogenes listeriolysin O (LLO) peptide spanning amino acids 91-99, presented by the H-2Kd MHC class I molecules. It is used to detect and study antigen-specific T cell responses against L. monocytogenes in murine models, facilitating immunological research on bacterial infections.
-
How does this product improve data accuracy in T cell studies?
A: By providing high specificity and sensitivity in detecting antigen-specific T cells, the tetramer reduces background staining and false positives. This leads to more accurate data, allowing researchers to draw meaningful conclusions about T cell responses and immune function.
