Muscotoxin A is a cyclic lipopeptide. There are first scientifically signs that the cyanobacterial lipopeptides can kill mammalian cells. The mechanism of action is poorly understood (membrane damage and influx ox calcium ions). Muscotoxin A was in lab trials cytotoxic to YAC-1, Sp/s and HeLa cancer cell lines with an IC50=9.9 - 13 µM.
