Recombinant Anti-E. coli LacY Biparatopic Antibody, Tandem scFv (Clone nb 9309 x Clone 9047) is a biparatopic antibody (bpAb) that binds to two distinct epitopes of E. coli LacY. The bpAb was designed as tandem scFv based on the nb 9309 scFv fused N-terminally to the 9047 scFv. nb 9309 binds a epitope in LacYww includes residues from TM7 (Asn245 and Thr248), loop 7-8 (Phe251 and Ala252), TM8 (Gly254), loop 9-10 (Thr310), TM11 (Glu374), and also TM2 (Lys42). While 9047 scFv targets the periplasmic face of LacY.

Target
- Introduction
- LacY is responsible for transport of beta-galactosides into the cell, with the concomitant import of a proton (symport system). Can transport lactose, melibiose, lactulose or the analog methyl-1-thio-beta, D-galactopyranoside (TMG), but not sucrose or fructose. The substrate specificity is directed toward the galactopyranosyl moiety of the substrate.
