The antibody was generated using synaptic plasma membranes derived from bovine hippocampus as the immunogen. Galactocerebroside (GalC) is a key galactosphingolipid found in myelin and is essential for the myelination process. GalC serves as a highly specific marker for identifying oligodendroglial lineage.
