The AbPlus Anti-HSV VP16 Magnetic Beads (2GV-4) is an innovative affinity resin which is bound with anti-HSV VP16 specific antibody (2GV-4). The beads were designed for small-scale affinity purification and immunoprecipitation (IP) of HSV VP16 protein under native and denaturing conditions.

- The beads are in suspension and will settle upon storage. Prior to use, mix the vial gently (do not vortex) to ensure delivery of proper bead volume.

- Herpes simplex virus 1 and 2 (HSV-1 and HSV-2), also known as human herpesvirus 1 and 2 (HHV-1 and HHV-2), are two members of the herpesvirus family, Herpesviridae, that infect humans. Both HSV-1 (which produces most cold sores) and HSV-2 (which produces most genital herpes) are ubiquitous and contagious. They can be spread when an infected person is producing and shedding the virus. In simple terms, herpes simplex 1 is most commonly known as a "cold sore," while herpes simplex 2 is the one known by the public as "herpes," or "genital herpes." Herpes simplex 1 is known to infect about 95% of the human populace, and is treated less seriously than herpes simplex 2, even though both are incurable. VP16 from herpes simple virus (HSV) is a strong transcriptional activator of immediate early viral genes.
