- Human Short-lived Effector Cell (SLEC): A terminally differentiated effector cell that possesses potent cytotoxic or cytokine-producing capabilities to clear an immediate infection. These cells, typically KLRG1high and CD127low, are destined for apoptosis during the contraction phase of the immune response.
