Creative Biolabs is a recognized name for infectious disease and oncology research and is dedicated to helping you discover and develop the best high quality anti-ANTXR2 recombinant antibodies for your research. Anthrax Toxin Receptor 2 (ANTXR2), also known as Capillary Morphogenesis Gene 2 (CMG2), has a well-established role in anthrax pathogenesis, but it is also a key player in angiogenesis. We have the validated antibodies you need to study its role as a receptor for anthrax toxins, as well as its role as a putative anti-angiogenic target for cancer.
ANTXR2: A Dual-Role Protein in Anthrax Pathogenesis and Angiogenesis
ANTXR2, also known as CMG2, is a transmembrane protein that has been best characterized as the receptor through which anthrax toxins enter host cells during infection. However, it also has well-established roles in a variety of normal physiological processes, most notably angiogenesis, or blood vessel formation. It binds to extracellular matrix components including collagen IV and laminin, and because of its high expression in tumor vasculature, it has been explored as a target for anti-cancer therapies, in an attempt to "starve" the tumor.
Alternative Names
Anthrax Toxin Receptor 2; Capillary Morphogenesis Gene 2 Protein; Capillary Morphogenesis Protein 2; CMG-2; CMG2; HFS; ISH; JHF
Background
This gene encodes a receptor for anthrax toxin. The protein binds to collagen IV and laminin, suggesting that it may be involved in extracellular matrix adhesion. Mutations in this gene cause juvenile hyaline fibromatosis and infantile systemic hyalinosis. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
Disease related genes, Human disease related genes, Plasma proteins
Intracellular, Membrane (different isoforms)
Cell type enhanced (Endometrial stromal cells)
Low immune cell specificity
Cell line enhanced (ASC diff, HHSteC, LHCN-M2, U-2197)
Binds laminin, and possibly also collagen type IV. (Microbial infection) Interacts (via VWFA domain) with the protective antigen (PA) of B.anthracis.

Anti-ANTXR2 rAb Products
Our anti-ANTXR2 recombinant antibodies are designed with superior specificity and high affinity in mind. They are validated to differentiate between ANTXR2 and its homolog ANTXR1 so that you can be confident you are getting the right data every time. Use our rAbs to study toxin binding and internalization, or to evaluate expression on tumor tissues, with the accuracy you need to power your research.
