Creative Biolabs is the perfect partner for your sensory neuroscience research. Choose our premium anti-CNGA2 recombinant antibodies to gain a better understanding of olfaction. The CNGA2 protein is the alpha subunit of the cation channel that detects odors. Our high-quality specific antibodies will be indispensable tools to study the sense of smell and signal transduction in olfactory neurons.
CNGA2: The Olfactory Cation Channel
Cyclic Nucleotide Gated Channel Alpha 2 (CNGA2) is the main pore-forming subunit of the cyclic AMP (cAMP)-gated cation channel in the cilia of olfactory receptor neurons, and is a key part of the sense of smell (olfaction). In response to odorant binding to its receptor, a signaling cascade is initiated that rapidly elevates intracellular cAMP levels. cAMP directly binds to and opens the CNGA2 channel, allowing the influx of positive ions (Na⁺ and Ca²⁺) and depolarization of the cell to create the electrical signal that is sent to the brain.
Alternative Names

Background
CNGA3 (Cyclic Nucleotide Gated Channel Alpha 3) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with CNGA3 include Achromatopsia 2 and Achromatopsia. Among its related pathways are cAMP signaling pathway and Olfactory Signaling Pathway. Gene Ontology (GO) annotations related to this gene include protein C-terminus binding and voltage-gated potassium channel activity. An important paralog of this gene is CNGA1.

Anti-CNGA2 rAb Products
Our anti-CNGA2 recombinant antibodies are engineered to be highly specific and rigorously validated for accurate detection of the CNGA2 subunit with no cross-reactivity to the CNGA1 photoreceptor isoform, an important consideration in olfactory studies. Optimized for IHC on sections of olfactory epithelium, as well as Western Blot, our rAbs deliver clean, reliable results.
