Background

CTAA16.88 (Cancer Testicular Antigen 16.88), also sometimes designated as NXF2B(Nuclear RNA Export Factor 2B), is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CTAA16.88 gene. Cancer testis antigens (CTAs) are a group of proteins that are normally expressed in germ cells of the testis but are also aberrantly expressed in various types of cancer. CTAA16.88's role in cancer is not fully understood, but its expression in tumor cells suggests a potential role in tumor growth or survival. Further research is needed to elucidate the precise functions of CTAA16.88 in normal physiology and cancer pathogenesis, and to explore its potential as a diagnostic or therapeutic target.
