FOXL2

FOXL2 (forkhead box L2) is the first member of the Winged helix/forkhead transcription factor (FOX) found in human 3q23 and is the earliest signature promoter of mammalian ovarian development. Genes in humans, mutations in the FOXL2 gene can cause blepharophimosis-ptosis-epicanthusinver-Sus syndrome (BPES), an autosomal dominant genetic disease with clinical manifestations of orbital hypoplasia and premature ovarian failure. Human embryos begin to express FOXL2 in the germ cell line before sex differentiation, and in adults, ovarian granulosa cells still express FOX12. It has been found that granulosa cells secrete and regulate the proliferation and differentiation of granules in an autocrine manner, and play a role in the normal development of follicles and the maintenance of ovarian function. Exogenous gonadotropin (Gn) is required for multifollicular development during controlled ovarian stimulation (COS). However, due to the difference between patients and the same patient at different times, the ovary has different responsiveness to gonadotropin. Therefore, reasonable evaluation of ovarian function and prediction of ovarian response are conducive to the development of the individualized treatment plan and reduction of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome. Or adverse reactions such as low ovarian response, which is beneficial to get the right amount of high-quality eggs and embryos to achieve the desired pregnancy outcome.
