Background

The protein encoded by this gene is an enzyme in the catabolic pathway of tyrosine. The encoded protein catalyzes the conversion of 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate to homogentisate. Defects in this gene are a cause of tyrosinemia type 3 (TYRO3) and hawkinsinuria (HAWK). Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

Recombinant Mouse Anti-Human HPD Antibody (CAT#: MOB-1131MZ)
This recombinant mouse anti-human HPD antibody works reliably in ELISA applications with human liver tissue lysates and HepG2 cell extracts. We've observed good specificity at 1:1000 dilution with clean background in western blots. The antibody consistently detects the expected ~40kDa band. While we haven't tested it extensively in IHC, it shows promise for detecting endogenous protein in FFPE samples. Reasonable choice for basic research applications.

Rabbit Anti-HPD Recombinant Antibody (clone DS1667AB) (CAT#: MOR-1667)
The Rabbit Anti-HPD performs well in WB with clear detection of the ~40kDa band in human liver samples and HEK293T overexpression lysates. At 1:2000 dilution, it shows good specificity with minimal non-specific binding. We've successfully used it for endogenous protein detection in mouse brain homogenates too.
