ICAM2 is a protein that, like ICAM1, is involved in leukocyte adhesion to endothelial cells. However, ICAM2 is primarily expressed on endothelial cells and plays a role in the regulation of immune responses during inflammation. It is involved in the extravasation of leukocytes to sites of infection or injury. ICAM2 is less studied than ICAM1, but it is also implicated in various inflammatory conditions. It facilitates the migration of immune cells to areas requiring immune responses, contributing to the body's defense against pathogens.
