Background
L3HYPDH, or Trans-3-hydroxy-L-proline dehydratase, is an enzyme involved in the catabolism of modified amino acids. It catalyzes the dehydration of trans-3-hydroxy-L-proline, a non-proteinogenic amino acid. This enzyme plays a role in the microbial degradation of certain nitrogenous compounds found in collagen and other biological materials.
